Revolutionary and Evolutionary Reagents for Opti-Mizing Microscopy.
Opti-Well™
The current workflow for microplate discovery most often uses buffered solutions that don’t protect samples and fluors. The meniscus inside the well creates a lens that disrupts trans-illumination light paths used in phase contrast and brightfield.
Our novel Opti-Well liquid coverslip reagent functions much like antifade mountants used in slide-based microscopy, preserving sample integrity and image information. The rapidly curing Opti-Well forms an optically pure, flat surface that behaves like a glass coverslip, protecting both samples and fluorescent markers. This enables extended storage while delivering, for the first time, true edge-to-edge phase-contrast imaging for label-free detection of most cellular features. As an added benefit, Opti-Well even enhances fluorescent signal brightness.
Opti-Seal™
Slide based microscopy continues to use finger nail polish to anchor the coverslip to the slide. It obscures content on the edges, can ruin objectives and can disrupt protein based fluors. Our Opti-Seal rapidly cures to an optical clear 1.5 refractive index. We also offer a version with non-bleaching yellow beads for standards and rapid focal plane determination.

“Opti-Seal™ has become our go-to sealing solution in the lab for any mounted coverslips! [The] optical clarity has allowed us to expand our imaging into perimeter of coverslips without interference.”
